Coaching
What is Coaching?
Coaching is having a thought partner who works with you to help you achieve your personal best. Coaching helps you to know and understand your gifts and growing edges. It helps you to deepen your learning, improve your performance and enhance the quality of your thinking. It is one of the most personal and customized self-development programs.
Our Coaching Program: We are leadership coaches, not life coaches.
Clarion's coaching program is short-term, assessment-based and geared towards very specific objectives. We employ formal psychometric and leadership assessment tools. Our rigorous process involves assessment, action planning and execution to achieve results. We expect clients to experiment with new behaviors, and put in place new standards of personal performance. Your coach, Bruna Martinuzzi, approaches her role as a guide, facilitator and educator. The program is suited for those who are prepared to do the work required to develop and follow an action plan for self-growth. For life coaching, or long-term coaching, we then refer you to a cadre of qualified coaches who specialize in, and enjoy, long-term coaching.
Coaching with the Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI)
One of the most effective ways of increasing your emotional intelligence is through coaching. Coaching for Emotional Intelligence starts with measuring your emotional intelligence in the four major areas of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management. Bruna Martinuzzi will facilitate the invaluable feedback given in those critical areas from people you interact with at work every day — your manager, peers, subordinates and others.
Coaching in those four cornerstones of emotional intelligence will help you to become aware of how others perceive you and where you see yourself, with regard to the following:
- How your emotions may affect your performance.
- What your strengths and limitations are.
- The confidence you have in your ability, and your decisions or opinions.
- The extent to which you can control disruptive emotions.
- The extent to which your actions are aligned with your values and beliefs (are your actions consistent with your words? do others see it that way?)
- How you adapt to changing situations or obstacles.
- Are you reliable?
- Do you meet and beat goals? Do you surpass standards of excellence?
- Do you think ahead of the present and see future needs and opportunities?
- How proactive are you?
- How well do you understand others?
- Do you take an interest in other people's concerns?
- Do you orient yourself towards serving others?
- Are you sensitive to the realities of organizational politics and structure?
- Do you use influential strategies and tactics? Are you persuasive?
- Do you foster the long-term development of others?
- Are you an inspiring leader?
- Do you create an atmosphere of openness?
- Are you a change catalyst?
- Are you effective at resolving disagreements?
- Are you an effective team player?
Coaching within an emotional intelligence framework helps develop your ability to manage yourself so that you can achieve your goals. It helps to develop your leadership presence and your interpersonal skills for effectively managing your relationships. Ultimately, coaching for emotional intelligence is about creating the capacity for mature and harmonious interactions that lead to the achievement of business and personal results.
