A research-based curriculum, Self-Science is heralded in Daniel Goleman's Emotional Intelligence book as one of two models for teaching EQ; it is a comprehensive, developmental approach to teaching the core skills children need to be more aware and emotionally adept.
Participants will leave with both a conceptual understanding and specific strategies to bring EQ to school. We will introduce why and how to bring EQ to the school with an emphasis on systems, practical tools, school culture, and role modeling. An engaging experience, this seminar will leave you ready to take action to create a more positive, effective school. Dynamic instruction, engaging activities, plus group work, laughter and learning add up to a powerful reinforcement of the essence of EQ.

- Techniques every teacher can use to engage students more meaningfully in their learning.
- How EQ-infused curriculum naturally engages multiple learning styles to enhance learning.

An EQ School Culture.
- How to measure and enhance your school culture.
- Simple processes for creating a more emotionally intelligent school where parents,
teachers, and students are partners in learning.
Target Audience:
Principals, teachers and parents. To gain the most benefit from this seminar, principals and head teachers are strongly encouraged to bring a team of 4-5 teachers and administrators. Registration of 2 and more are eligible for a 10% discount per person.

This course is based on the model of 6 Seconds, a non-profit organization that teaches emotional intelligence skills to create positive and productive relationships in schools, homes and organizations around the world.

President of Six Seconds and professor of education, Anabel L. Jensen, Ph.D., is a world-leading expert on how to teach emotional intelligence. A two time U.S. Federal blue ribbon winner for excellence in education, she brings 30 years of pioneering experience as an educator, principal, and professor of education. Dr. Jensen has trained over 10,000 educators, parents, and individuals. Dr. Jensen was Executive Director of the Nueva School in California from 1983 to 1997 where she helped develop the Self-Science Curriculum featured in Daniel Goleman's 1995 best selling book Emotional Intelligence. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California , Berkeley , in 1976 in Reading and Language Acquisition. Her minors were psychology and statistics.
